Since
diets tend to change people's lifestyles, it is important
to understand that it takes time to implement all the
new
principles into your life and your family.
Serving pizza, hotdogs,
burgers and fries for 10 years and then deciding all
of sudden that you want to serve an entirely raw dinner
might not go over too big.
When getting your family
involved remember how foreign
it will be for them to be eating low carb foods.
Begin by serving one light
salad dish at dinner. Maybe just
having salad with your meal is a big step. If you are
used to salad, serve something raw other than a salad
to accompany the meat dish if you eat meat.
For breakfast always try
to eat fruit first. They may crave
for the scrambled eggs and ham, but if you have the
fruit ready to eat, maybe cut up in a bowl, they will
go for it. Fruit
is visually appealing and the colors are enticing.
I don't know how anyone can resist beautiful fruit
on a platter. Summer fruit is the best and it is
still available! Take advantage of the end of the
season and start serving those delicious fruits before
they are gone.
Throw some living foods
in with your children's lunches.
Make sure to give much variety to keep their tastebuds
curious.
Ask them which living
foods they like and why. This
will give you an idea of what texture and flavors they
like in foods. The
best thing to do is just be CONSISTENT with
setting the living well example.
As time goes on, your
family and others will take you
and your desire to live well seriously.
Getting to this point
takes time, but you will get
there. Of course
the best and easiest way to get your family
to eat healthy is to train them to do it from day one.
Nurse for as long as possible and when you begin to
introduce foods, give your baby raw, organic, living
foods. Make the baby food yourself. It is simple
to do. Babies learn to love living foods early if
you give them the chance. Get them started early and
eating healthy is a breeze.
